Zomg! Radiohead!

Just got tickets for me and Matt to go and see Radiohead on 29th June 2008 at Lancashire C.C.C. in Old Trafford (wherever that is, I think is Manchester!).

Im totally excited for it! I love gigs and Ive wanted to see Radiohead since like, (well actually not that long) 2005/06. Ever since Matt played ‘Spinning Plates’ live to me!

I love em!

Now, if only I could get a gig where REM supported Radiohead who supported Muse, all in the same night/afternoon! God, I’d probably cream myself!!

Ski visits!

Yesterday Norm came down from his Mums to see me and so we could give each other our presents before Christmas. He arrived at midday but I wasnt expecting him til like 1pm so I was still asleep! Gah!

We had some lunch and headed off to Tesco where I did my Christmas shopping and whilst we were around that area Norm had his car washed. I hate going thru the car wash. The roller things and the noise freak me out, but thats not here nor there!

We then settled down for a night in with the Strictly Come Dancing Final. Im pretty sure Ive not been out on a Saturday night since it started 3 months ago, except for work.
Alesha won, Matt came 2nd. I was a bit up set because I think Matt did better on the final night, but whatever, its vote that count .. apparently!

Whilst the dancing was off (first show finished at 7:30pm and 2nd show started at 9:25pm) we watched the Three Tennors back in 1990 at the World Cup in Italy (or something to that effect). It was surprisingly good. Esp as Pav sang my most favourite (yes, I do indeed have a favourite opera song) Nessun Dorma. Its so pretty

I decided I’d have far to much culture this year. What with the Jazz gig, going to the Theatre in London then Opera (it counts even tho it was on the telly).
Apparently next year Norm is gonna try and get me even MORE cultured. Tho tbf, Ive been to the BBC Proms, so I have actually been cultured before.
Tis just not in my nature. But app a trip to the Tate modern is on the way! Haha!

Anyway, it was a very enjoyable night. Tho was slightly ruined by the fact when I got into bed I had to get out again to throw up!
First time for like 2 days. But I think its cus Id actually eaten properly and my stomach just isnt used to it yet. But we’ll see!

2 days to go

So, yesterday I finally managed to get all my Christmas shopping finished! Tho Im still pissed at Tesco’s selection of PSP games!
Is the PSP not overly popular or something? I thought everyone loved it? Or has everyone turned into a Nintendo fanboy/girl?

I only managed it as far as Uphill Tesco with Norm, but I did get something for Mum, Dad, Nan and Matt. So its all good!
Ive even finished wrapping htem and making them look pretty!
Wootage!

Seems the only thing left to do is wait til Xmas day now ….

Explanation

I thought I’d give you all a brief explanation of my blog name and the header picture. Because Im sure all all sat around your computers wondering .. (Yuh!)

Anyway, basically, the picture is from when I went to see Muse at Earls Court on 19th December 2004 and is actually a picture of the backscreen during ‘Ruled by Secrecy’. You cant see it awful well because the angles a bit dodgy and I was moving about alot, but on the screen is a timer counting down in the song until the end piano bit comes on.
Its all very beautiful, infact, Im not sure they do it anymore. I cant recall if they did it with the timer at Wembley, I dont think so (Matt?) .. but I digress.

And as you can imagine, ‘Change in the air’ is a lyric from the song, ‘Ruled by Secrecy’.

 

I thought it was kinda apt, what with having to make a new blog and it coming up to New Years an all that!

(Of course, I didnt need to tell Matt this, cus he would of known all this as soon as he saw it! Gotta love Muse fans!)

My Neville

Last night my best friend (an ex bf) Matt (also known to some as Nev) came round to cheer me up because I’d been moping around in bed for the past 4 days!

Anyway, he brought my Xmas prezzie which is SO good. Its a graphic novel/comic book stylee (book) called, ‘Marvel Zombies Vs Army of Darkness”
Srsly how cool is that? Superhero zombies and Bruce Campbell (leg-end!) together! What more could you want in life?!

He downloaded some Muse from a gig they did for Kroq and its flippin amazing! Also watched Hysteria at the Eden Project and MotP at Kroq! So good!
Its nice to talk to someone as crazy(if not more crazy) about Muse as me!

I took some pictures, because I jus dont have enough pictures of Matt. Well, I have alot of old ones, but its just not the same is it? Since they were from back in the day n all that ..

Infact Matt did note that my room was just full of memories from Westfield Street and the 3years we were going out! Its madness really, the things I keep.
But what the heck, they dont harm anyone and its nice to remember the good ol’ days!

So yes, all in all it was really nice to see Matt and hang out with him again. Since we dont get to do it alot these days due to me workin or either of us not having any money!!

4 Days to go …

Ok, so now its 4 days til the big day!
Today Ive felt well enough to venture to downhill Tesco to try and get some prezzies for people, because I dont think Im quite stong enought to wander around town for hours in and out of shops! I was knackerd after half hour at Tescos!!

Anyway, downhill Tesco is shit. I asked a shop person if they sold PSP games, and she was like, “Yes, there over there in entertainment *points in a random direction*”. Anyway, I went over to where I’d been looking for the past 5 mins and there wasnt any. There was PS2 games, but no sign of any PSP games. Which annoyed me slightly, since its all I’d really gone for!
So now Im hoping Norm gets some cash somehow and comes tomow because now I need to goto uphill Tesco to see if they have any. Im sure they will do, uphill Tesco is usually quite good like that! If not, Im gonna have to nip to town for half an hour!

I did manage to get a present for Chrissy! Im sure he’ll like it! At least I hope he does! Ive also managed to aquire a present for Grandad and Uncle Ian, I still need presents for Mum, Dad and my Nan. Along with a card for my Grandparents and my Parents! Ugh!
Theres so much I need to do and so little time to do it in! Its made harder by the fact I feel like crap when Im walking around, my stomach churns and I wanna sit down all the time!
I wish they had benches in Tesco!

Ive put the Xmas Tree up in the kitchen at my Nans tho. I love decorating the tree. The lights look funny and the angel is kinda lop sided and has a brance sticking out of her arse but whatever, I like it, and so does my Nan!

Boredom does strange things to a person!

Im not one for gambling really. Its not like I spend my Saturdays down the bookies betting on horses but I do occasionally have a flutter online.
I did so today. I put £10 in my account at Coral which I do every 2 months or so, then if I dont spend it all I can come back another day!

Anyway, I started with horses, but I didnt get very far with them, I have no idea about them and I dont understand it. Apparently picking the prettiest names isnt always the best idea! I did manage to win £1.67 tho. So not all bad!

I then went onto the games section. I played BlackJack for a bit, but it annoyed me in the end, so I gave up. Then I went onto Deal or No Deal. I got down to winning either, £15 or £1.95. Then the banker offered me £8 so I took the £8. Turns out I did the right thing, cus my box had the £1.95 in it! Phew!

Anyway, after all that I did manage to come out with £28. I didnt think I’d won that much, but I must of won more on BlackJack than I’d thought!
So now thats going into my bank account all ready for after Xmas!

Of course, I can see why people get addicted to it, its so tempting once you’ve won to go back and try and win more! Though most of these sites do have limits on how much you bet per day so Ive read. Tho apparently is optional! I dunno, Im not that bad just yet.

Next time I probably wont be as lucky! But for now I’ll sit and be content with my loverly £28 I made from a tenner!

So this sucks ..

So I went to the doctors this morning because Ive been throwing up pretty much everything Ive eaten or drunk since Monday evening. Apparently these bugs are only supposed to last 2 days, but this has been going on for 4.
And because Ive not eaten Im really weak and all I wanna do is sleep. So Ive been in bed for pretty much 4 days. And I hate it!
Luckily I have the luxury of a laptop and wireless so I can still browse the interweb and be on MSN an such, but its still sucky.
The doc told me not to eat or drink any dairy products, which is annoying cos I love a good cuppa cha! But since I cant have milk cus it makes me upchuck Ive had to resort to either black tea or black coffee. Ive been goin with black coffee cos black tea is mingy!
Im supposed to have something called Viral Gastro .. something or other. Idk, I couldnt read the doctors writing …

Which brings me to my next point. When doctors are in med school, do they have lessons on how to write really badly? Because Ive never ever seen a doctor with decent handwriting. Infact, I was talking to a doc at work the other day and she said that sometimes she cant read other doctors writing. You know its bad when other doctors can read it!

I guess the one good thing to come of this is Im at home for Christmas Day. Ive not been at home for a whole Xmas Day for like 2 years, so it’ll be nice .. maybe. If Im feeling better. Which Im sure I will be. I hope. If not, something is wrong! LoL!
Also means I can watch the Dancing Final on Saturday and watch Breakfast at Tiffanys on Friday! Something to do I guess.

And, Normski might be coming to see me on Saturday to bring me my present. So its something to look forward to. Tho I have no idea of what day it is because a) Ive been on nights and it fucks my whole system up and b) Ive been asleep quite alot so days just roll into one. I believe its Thursday. I know its 20th cus I got paid!
